Thanksgiving Day 22 - Genesis 3:21

'Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them. '

Genesis 3:21
https://my.bible.com/bible/1/GEN.3.21

I am thankful for that even though God was not pleased with Adam and Eve, He still provided for them.  He loves us so much that He give grace even to those that never accept His offer for eternal life.

Now this grace does run out if you do not accept His offer.  Jesus died to pay for your sins.  If you don't repent and ask His to forgive you, God will not extend grace beyond that.  He loves you.  Please don't turn Him away.

Thanksgiving Day 21 - Genesis 3:20

'And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living. '

Genesis 3:20
https://my.bible.com/bible/1/GEN.3.20

This one should be easy.  I am thankful for my mom.

Thank you God for providing me with a mom and dad that raised me!

Thanksgiving Day 20 - Genesis 3:16-19

'Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return. '

Genesis 3:16-19
https://my.bible.com/bible/1/GEN.3.16-19

What am I thankful for?  Work!  I am thankful for my job that pays money but I am also thankful for just plain old work. Why would I be thankful for that?  Isn't work hard?  Why yes it is!  Think about it, when Adam and Eve were sent out of the garden, God could have destroyed them both.  He didn't.  Yes He said Adam would have to work pretty hard to get by but through this hard work we get to appreciate what we have.

Most of the time you appreciate something that you worked hard for. It gives you a sense of accomplishment.  Now, why did I say most?  There is one thing that you don't have to work for.  You can't work for and you will not survive in eternity without it.  What is that?  A saving relationship with Jesus!  He did the work.  He died to pay our penalty for sin.  All we have to do is ask Jesus to forgive us and save us.  We repent from our sin and serve Him!  That is a blessed life.  If you want to know more about how to get this life, I would be pleased to tell you more!

Thanksgiving Day 19 Genesis 3:11-15

'And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. And the Lord God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. And the Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. '

Genesis 3:11-15
https://my.bible.com/bible/1/GEN.3.11-15

What am I thankful for today?  Prophecy!  What does that have to do with the here and now?  Everything!  If what was predicted in the past came true at a 99% rate, you would probably believe what was told about the future.  My God is better than that!  100% of the prophecies that were given about Jesus and His first coming came true!  That makes me believe He will come again like He said!

Here is some logic if you still doubt.  If you want to read the entire listing, it came from this website:

A number of years ago, Peter W. Stoner and Robert C. Newman wrote a book entitled Science Speaks. The book was based on the science of probability and vouched for by the American Scientific Affiliation. It set out the odds of any one man in all of history fulfilling even only eight of the 60 major prophecies (and 270 ramifications) fulfilled by the life of Christ.

The probability that Jesus of Nazareth could have fulfilled even eight such prophecies would be only 1 in 1017. That's 1 in 100, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000.

Stoner claims that that many silver dollars would be enough to cover the face of the entire state of Texas two feet deep. Now I've been to Texas. I've driven for days to get across Texas. Texas is a very big state. Who in his right mind would suppose that a blindfolded man, heading out of Dallas by foot in any direction, would be able, on his very first attempt, to pick up one specifically marked silver dollar out of 100, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000?

I think that is plenty of proof.  If you still want to doubt, that is not a lack of faith, that is rebellion against God. I am sorry to break it to you but it is true.  Belief in Jesus is not blind faith.  All faith is based on some information.  The information in favor of Jesus is massive!

If you want to believe in Jesus, not just about Him, in Him, I can introduce you.  He will not disappoint you!  I promise.  You will disappoint Him but He will not disappoint you!

PS.  Do you know how big Texas is?  I was born there and when we would drive to WV to visit family it would take us 3 days.  My dad was the only one who could drive and he would drive all day and we would stop every night at a hotel.  The first day?  That is how long it took to get out of Texas!

Here is a clip from a website (https://infographicjournal.com/how-big-is-texas/)

At 268,596 square miles, Texas is a big state — the second largest, of course, after Alaska. As it turns out, if Texas were a country it would also be one of the largest in the world, ranking as the 39th largest country by area our of around 200 countries, just a tad larger than Myanmar. However, those stats may not give you a great idea of how Texas’ girth actually compares to different countries, since size is often better understood visually.

Thanksgiving Day 18 - Genesis 3:10

'And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. '

Genesis 3:10
https://my.bible.com/bible/1/GEN.3.10

Persistence?  Do you know what is even better?  God does not let me hide from Him.  He calls me out.  It is not pleasant some times but it sure is comforting in the long run.  If God is willing to call me out over something that I have done, that means He is not done with me!  It doesn't matter how I feel about things, He is in charge and He love me.  That is wonderful!  I loved my dad and he called me out over things.  Let me say that again.  I loved my dad.  He was a hero!  My God is even better than my dad and He loves me too!  Let God be your hero too.  If you need help getting started, let me know.  I would be glad to help you get started.

Thanksgiving Day 17 - Genesis 3:7-9

'And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden. And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? '

Genesis 3:7-9

Do you know what I am thankful for today?  I am thankful for persistence!  God knew exactly where Adam was but He still called out to him and sought him.  That is wonderful!  Even though we try to hide from God, He doesn't let that stop Him from seeking us and loving us.  That is amazing!  Thank You Jesus!

'For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.'

Romans 8:38-39

God doesn't let anything get in His way to you and me.  Why do we put things in His way to us?

Thanksgiving Day 16 - Genesis 3:4-6

'And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. '

Genesis 3:4-6
https://my.bible.com/bible/1/GEN.3.4-6

Want to know what I am thankful for today?  Truth!  What is truth?  Does it mean something different to different people?  That is not the truth I am talking about.  If you believe that a truth is a lie, that does not change the fact that it is true.  Pilate asked this question a long time ago. What is truth?  He walked away after he asked it.  He did not want to know the answer.

'Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all. '

John 18:38
https://my.bible.com/bible/1/JHN.18.38

Here is what Jesus was talking to him about.  He was testifying of the truth that He is our salvation!

If you don't know Him, I would be honored to introduce you to Him.

'Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice. '

John 18:37

Here is a video that attempts to give an introduction to Jesus.  It is pretty good but Jesus is better than even what this video describes!

Thanksgiving Day 15 - Genesis 3:1-3

'Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. '

Genesis 3:1-3

Want to know what I am thankful for today?  MERCY!  God set rules out for us to follow.  Adam and Eve broke the one rule that they were given.  This brought the curse of sin into the world.  Now, before I get upset at Adam and Eve, I have to look at myself.  I fail God daily.  Some days are worse, but as a good friend of mine and someone I respect greatly, Dr. CB Scott said that God does not love you any less on your worst days than He does on your best.  That is so very comforting to me.

Now, this does not mean that you keep messing up on purpose just because God loves you.  No!  We are called to be holy just as God is Holy.  But, when we mess up as blood bought Christians, we can be forgiven and restored.  Without this, I would not last 30 seconds on my best day (much likely even less than 30 seconds).

'Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. '

1 Peter 1:13-16

Lord help me to think good thoughts and say good things and do things that are pleasing to you!

'Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. '

Philippians 4:8

God's mercies are new every morning!  Thank you Jesus. I do not want justice for if that is what You would provide for me, I would be destroyed immediately!  Mercy is what I need!

'It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. '
Lamentations 3:22-23

Thanksgiving Day 14 - Genesis 2:21-25

'And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.'

Genesis 2:21-25

What am I thankful for today?  I am thankful for family.  God blessed me with a wonderful family growing up.  I had the best dad and mom.  My dad was my hero but that was not the end of my family.  God saw fit to send me to Kentucky and I found a wife.  That was one of the best blessings that God gave me!  I prayed hard for a wife and He sent me a wonderful one!

I also think of innocence of the first humans before sin entered in.  This innocence is replicated in babies today but that does not last long, but it is still a wonderful reminder of how we should be.  Now, I am not saying we should all run around naked and not be ashamed.  That is not what we should be doing!

But, we should come to God as little children.  Not in a childish way but in a trusting way.  God said and we should believe it and act on it.  That is how children are!  They are not ashamed or afraid to come right to their parents with anything.  I often am reminded of how wonderful the little children are in my music class.  They are not afraid to try and just about everyone one of them are able to sing any song!  Just ask them and they will give it a go!

Now that I have mentioned the little kids I teach, let me say something wonderful about my middle school kids.  They are not as bold to try things as the little kids are but, they are just as wonderful when you catch them doing something brave or something new and you brag on them!  They need that and so do adults!

How did I get to talking about my students?  That is easy!  I love them just like family!  Here is a couple of examples of when my kids came to my rescue at low points in my life.

One of my former middle school students came to my room early every day or almost every day for a week when my wife was having open heart surgery.  He told that God will take care of my wife.  That was a blessing and he was right!

Another time, one of my primary students walked across the hall and looked up at me and just said, "Hi Mr. Ord."  I was very upset at the time, although I don't remember about what.  That little girl made my day and I still remember it years later.  I joked with her and I told her to stop that, I was trying to be mad!  She laughed and that was even a bigger blessing to me!

Marriage is sacred.

'And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. '

Matthew 19:4-6
https://my.bible.com/bible/1/MAT.19.4-6

Little children are a blessing and we should come to God with the same trusting attitude and love they do.

'Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. '

Matthew 19:13-14
https://my.bible.com/bible/1/MAT.19.13-14

If you don't know how to approach God and would want some help, I would be honored to introduce you to Him!

Thanksgiving Day 13 - Genesis 2:19-20

'And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. '

Genesis 2:19-20

What am I thankful for today?  Pets!  We have had some wonderful pets in the past.  Our dog Shaggy was the best of all!  He grew up with our daughter Chelsea.  We loved him so very much and grieved terribly when he died.  It is not wrong to grieve over losing a pet.

'A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel. '

Proverbs 12:10

We have had some other wonderful pets as well but I think you could ask my wife and daughter and they would vote for Shaggy as the pet that we all loved the most.  My current pets are loved also but they can't replace Shaggy.  God blessed us with him that is for sure!

Thanksgiving Day 12 - Genesis 2:18

'And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. '
Genesis 2:18

This one is easy!  Feast your eyes on what God sent me!  It pays to pray.  I did!

Thanksgiving Day 11 - Genesis 2:17

'But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. '
Genesis 2:17

Want to know what I am thankful for?  God!  He is in control and nothing gets by Him.  He is the final authority for EVERYTHING!  Why do you ask am I thankful for that?  Have you looked around lately?  This world is (or seems to be) spinning out of control.  God is in control of that too!  I can rest in His ability to control this world and me.  His control of me is even more miraculous!  He could just give up on me but He doesn't!  Isn't that wonderful?  Would you like to know someone that will not give up on you?  I would be glad to introduce you!

Thanksgiving Day 10 - Genesis 2:16

“And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭2:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬
https://www.bible.com/1/gen.2.16.kjv

Do you know what I am thankful for?  It is not food this time although that is a good one.  I am glad of the freedom that God has given.  We are free to serve Him.  We are free to love.  We are free to serve others.  Did you know that sin prevents you from having that freedom?  Sin messes everything up.  It keeps us from a close relationship with God.  It keeps us from being satisfied.  It keeps us from loving others the way we should.

I want to thank God for allowing me to pray for my friends.  He takes care of them and He takes care of me.  I have a couple of friends that I would like you to pray with me for.  One is my friend Tina.  I work with her and she is the most wonderful loving person.  She loves the kids she teaches and she loves the people she works with.  She needs prayer.  Please pray for her.

Another person I would like for you to help me pray for is my best friend Garrett.  His dad is very sick and his mom is having a hard time with it.  Please pray for God’s will concerning both of these.  I have many other prayer requests but these two weigh heavy on me tonight.  Please pray.

Thanksgiving Day 9 - Genesis 2:13-15

“And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia. And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates. And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.”

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭2:13-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

What am I thankful for today?  I am thankful for God’s gifts to every believer.  He has gifted me with at least one talent.  He also requires that I work for Him to bring Him glory.  I am thankful that He allows me to work for Him and I pray that He keeps me clean and close to Him so that I can continue to work for Him.

Now I want everyone to know that you don’t work for God to get salvation.  You work for Him because He gives you salvation.  It is a way we can express our love back to God!  Think about how thankful we should be.  He has delivered us from spending an eternity in Hell.  That is more than I will ever deserve!  We love Him because He loved us first!   Let’s work for the Master!  He deserves our service!

“We love him, because he first loved us.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭4:19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Thanksgiving Day 8 - Genesis 2:11-12

“The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold; And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone.”

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭2:11-12‬ ‭KJV‬‬
https://www.bible.com/1/gen.2.11-12.kjv

What am I thankful for today?  I am thankful for God’s provisions.  Money is something that is needed today.  God has provided me with a job and I make enough money to provide for my family.  My prayer is that I can honor God better with what He provides me.

Now you may think that I am not being spiritual to be thankful for money.  Let me explain what my God has done for me in the past.  There has been times when I didn’t have the money to pay for a repair of something that broke down.  I didn’t have any money to spare at all when my daughter was a baby but God saw me through.  EVERY TIME!  There has been times when I have received extra money out of the blue.  That provided for me in a time that I needed it!  There has been other times when some bill was much less than expected.  That is another way God provided for me and my family.  There has been times when God didn’t do either BUT do you know what?  We made it anyway!  When my daughter was a baby we struggled because we didn’t have much money.  It was very tough but I appreciated every thing that we got!  We did not go a day without eating and I know there are people on the planet that can’t say that.  I am very thankful for God’s provisions.  My job is a blessing and I ask that God helps me to honor Him with what He gives me.  At my job and with the money that is provided through my job.

Thanksgiving Day 7 - Genesis 2:10

'And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads. '

Genesis 2:10
https://my.bible.com/bible/1/GEN.2.10

What am I thankful for today?  I am thankful for water!  Yesterday (I know it was just a few minutes ago) I gave thanks for food.  Water is next!  What would you do without water?  You would not live very long at all without water.  And yes, God provides water to ALL!  If you serve Him, He allows you to have water.  If you don't serve Him, He still allows you to have water.  That is grace!  I think it is called common grace.  That is what God provides for everyone.

Now, there is the living water that I am more thankful for.  Have you heard about this living water?  When you become a believer in Jesus, you have living water that flows out of you.  This is when you tell others about how Jesus saved you, that is if He has saved you.

If you don't know Jesus as your Savior, I would be honored to tell you about Him!  I also want to share one of my favorite songs.  It is linked below.  I can't share the short version, you have to hear the long version.  You will like it! If you are feeling a little down, this song will pep you up!  It did for me this evening.  Praise Jesus!

He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

Thanksgiving Day 6 - Genesis 2:9

'And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. '

Genesis 2:9
https://my.bible.com/bible/1/GEN.2.9

You know what I am thankful for today?  Food!  Did that sound strange?  God provides food for us to eat and this allows us to live.  God provides food for the people that serve Him or not.  That is grace!  Think about the next time you eat.  What if you did not have that food?  You would not live very long.

Do you know about the ultimate food?  I am glad to tell you!  Jesus!

Did you know that Jesus is the bread of life?  He came to provide us life and life more abundantly!  He loves us and provided Himself as a sacrifice to pay the penalty of our sin.  Did I say that regular food is grace?  THIS is grace!

Thanksgiving Day 5 - Genesis 2:8

'And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden;
and there he put the man whom he had formed. '

What am I thankful for?  I am thankful that God planted me where He wanted me.
I want to bring Him glory.  If God plants and I am a seed, how can I bring Him the most
glory and honor?  I can bear fruit for Him.

Please help me bring honor to God.  Pray with me to help me bring fruit for God.

Love - help me to love people the way God loves them.
Peace - help me to have the kind of peace that people see and want.
Faithfulness - help me to serve God better without giving up.
Joy - help me to have that joy that leaks out so much that people want to have what I have!
Goodness - help me to be obedient to God even when nobody is watching.
Gentleness - help me to humbly serve God and others in a soft way.  Not seeking my own way.
Patience - help me to wait on the Lord.  Help me to be still and know that He is God!
Kindness - help me to be considerate and helpful to others.
Self - Control - help me to stop putting myself first over others and God.

Thank you God for allowing me to be yours.  Help me to be clean and close to You and bring You honor in everything I say or do.

Thanksgiving day 4 - Genesis 2:7-

'And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. '

What am I thankful for today?

I am thankful for the life that God gave to Adam and He gave to me.  Now to start with, I am
talking about regular life where I breathe and continue to live.  God took a chance on me and
I failed Him.  I failed Him MISERABLY!  Did you read that last sentence?  God gave me life even
though He knew I would fail Him.

Now God could have just stopped there and let me live until I die and then let me burn in Hell
apart from Him for eternity.  That is what I deserve.  This common grace is more than I deserve.
It is more than you deserve too.  Now, I am not judging you unless you count me knowing that you
are not perfect.  That is God's standard for us because He is Holy, we are called to be Holy.

We can't do that and God knows that.  He provided Jesus as a complete sacrifice for us.
There is a problem with that however.  This is something that amazes me.  We did not run to God when
this was offered to us.  We as humans run AWAY from God.  God could just say He has had enough
rejection and destroy us.  Boy, am I glad He didn't do that!

The gospel is simple.  God provides grace, we respond in faith and salvation is the result.
God even helps us with the responding in faith.  He loves us that much.

If you don't know Him and would like to be introduced to Him, I would be honored to do that.

My second thing I am thankful for is life.  BUT, this life is eternal.  It does not even begin when
I die.  It started when I believed on Jesus and repented and asked Him to save me.

And yes it is just that simple if you are honest with God.

Thanksgiving Day 3 - Genesis 2:4-6

“These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens, And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭2:4-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

These verses remind me of one of the Origins shows that I watched a while ago.  It discussed the vapor canopy theory.  It was very interesting.  I would like to share it with you here.

I looked up a fairly recent video and I learned that the vapor canopy is not as strongly thought to have existed.  You can watch the video and see what you think.  I am thankful for science and God’s Word.

Thanksgiving Day 2 Genesis 2:1-3

'Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made;
and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it:
because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. '

Genesis 2:1-3 https://my.bible.com/bible/1/GEN.2.1-3

What am I thankful for today?  I am thankful for the number 7.
God finished His creation and rested on the seventh day.  God blessed that day
and that made it very special.

The number 7 also has a special meaning to me.  When I was looking for a job
a long time ago, I prayed that God would help me find the job He wanted for me.
I prayed that God would only open one door for me because I told God that
if there was two doors open, I would go through the wrong door!

God answered this prayer and did it hurt in the short term.  There was a few jobs
that I did not get that I thought was perfect for me.  For me!  Can you hear the pride in
that statement?  God knew better!  He sent me to McDowell, KY.  How do I know?

1.  I asked for Him to only open one door and McDowell, KY was that door.
2.  He provided the number 7 as assurance for me AFTER I came, not before.

I won't tell you my whole story now.  Here are just a few of the 7's that God revealed to me.

The town I first lived in when I moved to Kentucky?  Garrett - 7 letters.
The road through Garrett?  Route 7
The road by the trailer I was renting?  Route 777

Here is a good one.
A flower with 7 blooms came up in the back yard after I had been there about 2 weeks and the
flower lived 7 days.

Another?
The trailer I was renting was exactly 7 miles from where I worked.  McDowell Elementary.

Now what did I need?
A wife!

Think God would give me a wife?  He sure did and she has been a blessing!
I will tell you more about meeting my wife possibly later but here are some more 7's.

My wife's first name?  7 letters.  Shearry
Ward plus Ord?  7 letters
Shearry's birthday is 7/27 - 2 sevens in that one.
Shearry's full name is 14 letters long.  2 more sevens.

Ready for more?  You knew I was going to tell you!
Engagement ring?  3/4 carat (3+4=7)

Here is one more.
Our ages when we got married were 29 and 25.  9-2=7.  5+2=7.

The sevens in the story were not realized until after the fact.

Here is one I forgot.  Got to love middle school kids!  Why?

I will give you one guess as to what grade was my very first class at McDowell?
Third!  No, it was seventh!

It sure is good to remember God's blessings.  If you don't know Him, I would be honored to
introduce you.  You will not regret it!

Thank you for reading.  God bless you!

Thanksgiving Day 1 Genesis 1:28-31

'And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.
And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air,
and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life,
I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed,
which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree,
in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
And God blessed them, and God said unto them,
Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it:
and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air,
and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. '

What are you thankful for my friend? I am thankful first of all for salvation that Jesus
provided for me. I broke His law and fail Him daily but He provided salvation
and I asked Him to forgive me and He did! Praise God!

The above scriptures detail God's miracle creation of the sixth day.
Man was created. We were told to be fruitful and multiply. This makes me think of
another verse that I took and held on for dear life.

Want to know what it is?

Okay. I will tell you.

'As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed,
but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.'

No you may ask, why is that so special? I am fixin' to tell you my friend.

My daughter was facing two back surgeries due to scoliosis and I was afraid.
I found that verse and I prayed and cried out to God and told Him,
"Lord, I only have one arrow and if it is okay, I would like to keep her."

He heard and answered my prayer! This was even before my daughter was saved
so it was a bigger miracle than just making it through back surgeries.

There are many other miracles that surrounded this and I hope to be able to tell you
about it soon. God sure has blessed me more that I will ever deserve.

Do you know Him?

I can introduce you to Him. Just let me know.

I will disappoint you but He will not. I can assure of that.

God bless you!

This is a picture of my baby's back prior to surgery. God saw her through that surgery
AND He saved her later on! I will tell you about my grandson possibly tomorrow.
God blessed us again!

Thanksgiving Day 30, Genesis 4:22-26
