Thanksgiving Day 13 - Genesis 2:19-20

'And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. '

What am I thankful for today?  Pets!  We have had some wonderful pets in the past.  Our dog Shaggy was the best of all!  He grew up with our daughter Chelsea.  We loved him so very much and grieved terribly when he died.  It is not wrong to grieve over losing a pet.  

'A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel. '

We have had some other wonderful pets as well but I think you could ask my wife and daughter and they would vote for Shaggy as the pet that we all loved the most.  My current pets are loved also but they can't replace Shaggy.  God blessed us with him that is for sure!
