Thanksgiving Day 27, Genesis 4:9-12

And the Lord said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper?10 And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground.11 And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand;12 When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.
What am I thankful for today?  I am thankful that God does expect us to be our brother's keeper.  We are responsible for each other! It is hard to make it on your own and I don't think we can do it!  We need other people and we certainly need God!

I have heard that when someone sins, that it does not effect anyone but them.  This is a lie!  Sin is like a sickness.  When you are sick, you affect others.  If you are not close to God, your witness is tainted.  We are expected to glorify God.  It is our purpose.  When something does not perform to it's expectation it is not good for much.  For example, if a pencil would not write, what would you do with it?

Ecclesiastes 12:13

13Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
