Thanksgiving Day 26, Genesis 4:5-8

5  But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.
And the Lord said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?

7  If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

Genesis 4:5-7, KJV

I am a little behind on my posts about what I am thankful for.  This one is big!  I am so thankful that I don't have to compare myself to others and they don't have to compare themselves to me.  Each person is saved on their own standing.

I have heard this so much that it makes me sad.  If so and so is going to heaven, then I am okay!  That my friend is a lie from Satan!  First of all, how do you know that person you are comparing yourself to is a Christian and is on their way to heaven?  You don't!  Oh and by the way, the standard is perfection.  I will let that one sink in a minute.

Okay, how are you doing with that standard?  Nobody can stan
d up to that standard.  We stand before God one by one for our own life.  One sin is all that it takes to keep us from going to heaven.  The penalty for sin is death!

Romans 6:23 KJV

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

We deserve to die because of our sin.  God knew all about this and provided a payment for our sin.  Instead of you dying for your sins, Jesus took your place!  He paid your penalty!  You can't have it unless you ask for it and accept it!  Have you done that today?  If not, I would be happy to introduce you to Jesus!
