Thanksgiving Day 30, Genesis 4:22-26

'And Zillah, she also bare Tubal–cain, an instructor of every artificer in brass and iron: and the sister of Tubal–cain was Naamah. And Lamech said unto his wives, Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice; ye wives of Lamech, hearken unto my speech: for I have slain a man to my wounding, and a young man to my hurt. If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold, truly Lamech seventy and sevenfold. And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew. And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the Lord .'

Day 30?  Why yes!  I love how God blesses and this blessing multiplies!  He gave Eve another son and this son had a son and the Bible says, THEN, began men to call upon the name of the Lord.!  That is awesome!  God helps us to come to Him.  God helps us to praise Him.  God helps us to tell others about Him!  Do you know Him?

God is calling...will you answer?

Thanksgiving Day 29, Genesis 4:16-21

'And Cain went out from the presence of the Lord , and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden. And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch. And unto Enoch was born Irad: and Irad begat Mehujael: and Mehujael begat Methusael: and Methusael begat Lamech. And Lamech took unto him two wives: the name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah. And Adah bare Jabal: he was the father of such as dwell in tents, and of such as have cattle. And his brother's name was Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ. '

I am thankful for music!  Now, you may know that I am a music teacher and I love my job but the music that I love the most is the music that gives praise to God!  Did you know Bach said something about what he thought music should be for?  Also, did you know that Bach is one of my favorite composers?  Here is his quote:

The aim and final end of all music should be none other than the glory of God and the refreshment of the soul.

Here is one of my favorite songs, and no Bach did not write it but I love it anyway and I still love Bach!  This video is a teen talent show!  This is not fair to the other acts and I didn't even see them!  Enjoy!

They are singing about MY King!  King Jesus!  Do you know Him?  If you want to be introduced to Him, I would be honored to do that!  God bless you!

Thanksgiving Day 28, Genesis 4:13-15

'And Cain said unto the Lord , My punishment is greater than I can bear. Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me. And the Lord said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the Lord set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him. '

Genesis 4:13-15

I am thankful for God's love and his discipline.  If you read the above passage you can look on Cain's punishment or you can look on God's love and mercy.  After God punished Cain, He still loved him.  God can punish us or discipline us and it is for our good.

For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. Hebrews 12:6 KJV https://my.bible.com/bible/1/HEB.12.6.KJV

When we are disciplined, our appropriate response should be to repent.

As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. Revelation 3:19 KJV https://my.bible.com/bible/1/REV.3.19.KJV

Thanksgiving Day 27, Genesis 4:9-12

And the Lord said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper?10 And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground.11 And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand;12 When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.
What am I thankful for today?  I am thankful that God does expect us to be our brother's keeper.  We are responsible for each other! It is hard to make it on your own and I don't think we can do it!  We need other people and we certainly need God!

I have heard that when someone sins, that it does not effect anyone but them.  This is a lie!  Sin is like a sickness.  When you are sick, you affect others.  If you are not close to God, your witness is tainted.  We are expected to glorify God.  It is our purpose.  When something does not perform to it's expectation it is not good for much.  For example, if a pencil would not write, what would you do with it?

Ecclesiastes 12:13

13Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

Thanksgiving Day 26, Genesis 4:5-8

5  But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.
And the Lord said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?

7  If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

Genesis 4:5-7, KJV

I am a little behind on my posts about what I am thankful for.  This one is big!  I am so thankful that I don't have to compare myself to others and they don't have to compare themselves to me.  Each person is saved on their own standing.

I have heard this so much that it makes me sad.  If so and so is going to heaven, then I am okay!  That my friend is a lie from Satan!  First of all, how do you know that person you are comparing yourself to is a Christian and is on their way to heaven?  You don't!  Oh and by the way, the standard is perfection.  I will let that one sink in a minute.

Okay, how are you doing with that standard?  Nobody can stan
d up to that standard.  We stand before God one by one for our own life.  One sin is all that it takes to keep us from going to heaven.  The penalty for sin is death!

Romans 6:23 KJV

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

We deserve to die because of our sin.  God knew all about this and provided a payment for our sin.  Instead of you dying for your sins, Jesus took your place!  He paid your penalty!  You can't have it unless you ask for it and accept it!  Have you done that today?  If not, I would be happy to introduce you to Jesus!

Thanksgiving Day 25 - Genesis 4:3-4

'And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the Lord . And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering: '

Genesis 4:3-4
https://my.bible.com/bible/1/GEN.4.3-4

God sees the heart!  I am so thankful for that.  It doesn't matter what you do or what you give to God.  If you give it with your heart in the right place, He will bless it and be pleased with it.  Don't do anything without love and your heart in the right place.  It does make a difference.

Thanksgiving Day 24 - Genesis 4:1-2

'And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord . And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. '

Genesis 4:1-2
https://my.bible.com/bible/1/GEN.4.1-2

I am thankful for the difference in people.  The people that I work with are little.  Now I don't mean any disrespect.  The people I am talking about are only 5-7 years old.  They are wonderful!  It is amazing how people can be brothers and sisters from the same family and be very much different!  I like how people are different.  One of the best things about teaching is that no two days are alike!  The variety is so much fun!  God sure blessed me by letting me be around kids for a living.  They are blessings!

Now, when you become one of Jesus' kids, you are supposed to be a blessing to others.  Many times, we are not.  Jesus still loves us and we are forever His even when we fail Him, which we will do many times.  If you would like a relationship with Jesus and become one of His kids, let me know.  I would be honored to introduce you!  You will not regret it!
