Thanksgiving Day 30, Genesis 4:22-26
Thanksgiving Day 29, Genesis 4:16-21
'And Cain went out from the presence of the Lord , and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden. And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch. And unto Enoch was born Irad: and Irad begat Mehujael: and Mehujael begat Methusael: and Methusael begat Lamech. And Lamech took unto him two wives: the name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah. And Adah bare Jabal: he was the father of such as dwell in tents, and of such as have cattle. And his brother's name was Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ. '
The aim and final end of all music should be none other than the glory of God and the refreshment of the soul.
Thanksgiving Day 28, Genesis 4:13-15
'And Cain said unto the Lord , My punishment is greater than I can bear. Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me. And the Lord said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the Lord set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him. '

Thanksgiving Day 27, Genesis 4:9-12
9 And the Lord said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper?10 And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground.11 And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand;12 When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.
What am I thankful for today? I am thankful that God does expect us to be our brother's keeper. We are responsible for each other! It is hard to make it on your own and I don't think we can do it! We need other people and we certainly need God!
I have heard that when someone sins, that it does not effect anyone but them. This is a lie! Sin is like a sickness. When you are sick, you affect others. If you are not close to God, your witness is tainted. We are expected to glorify God. It is our purpose. When something does not perform to it's expectation it is not good for much. For example, if a pencil would not write, what would you do with it?

Thanksgiving Day 26, Genesis 4:5-8
7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.
Genesis 4:5-7, KJV
I am a little behind on my posts about what I am thankful for. This one is big! I am so thankful that I don't have to compare myself to others and they don't have to compare themselves to me. Each person is saved on their own standing.
I have heard this so much that it makes me sad. If so and so is going to heaven, then I am okay! That my friend is a lie from Satan! First of all, how do you know that person you are comparing yourself to is a Christian and is on their way to heaven? You don't! Oh and by the way, the standard is perfection. I will let that one sink in a minute.
Okay, how are you doing with that standard? Nobody can stan
d up to that standard. We stand before God one by one for our own life. One sin is all that it takes to keep us from going to heaven. The penalty for sin is death!
Romans 6:23 KJV
We deserve to die because of our sin. God knew all about this and provided a payment for our sin. Instead of you dying for your sins, Jesus took your place! He paid your penalty! You can't have it unless you ask for it and accept it! Have you done that today? If not, I would be happy to introduce you to Jesus!
